Antonino D'Angelo

The 4th of April at 2:00 a.m., some German soldiers broke into Saturnino Di Prinzio's house. He was deported to Colle Luna to Giuseppe Torrieri's house. Then he was taken to Contrada Tiballo.

They arrived to Chieti (which was considered an "Open City", a title given to cities surrendered to the enemy's forces without fighting) passing through Bocca di Valle and Rapino. Saturnino was then interrogated because the Germans thought he was an English spy.

He began working in Fontanelle in Chieti where he met Corradino and they escaped together. They hid in Costantino Scioli's house at Colle Barone and then they separated. Corradino found his family and later he died because of a mine explosion.

Instead, Saturnino went to Chieti again and in the way he met Antonino D'Angelo. Antonino was a patriot who worked with the English command, he was specifically an informer.

While they were moving forward they got involved in an artillery fire and they both got injured. Saturnino ran away leaving Antonino to certain death. He arrived to Laio torrent. He was saved and taken to Casoli hospital where he got cured.
